Change the world

Student Governance and Development

The NMMU Master of Ceremony programme was developed in response to student requests to assist with the fear of public speaking. The programme is based on the principles of active participation and practical learning by doing workshops in which participants hone their speaking and leadership skills. The programme attempts to address students’ fear of public speaking in a sensitive and encouraging environment. Due to the format of the programme and the practical application, numbers have to be kept small and intimate.

Students have two workshops,  run by a qualified International Toastmasters speaker and culminates in a final practical session with the NMMU Director of Marketing and Corporate Affairs, Mr Pieter Swart.
