Aim
As our name states Space is a Student Platform for Architectural and Cultural Enjoyment. We aim to create a safe space and a community within our department. We aim to act as a support system to the students and echo their voices. We want to promote architectural engagement throughout the different years and cultivate friendships. We also aim to offer the students various social events as well as practical educational experiences which they can join voluntarily.
Background
Over the years our society has taken on various shapes and forms. Space as we know it today was established a few years ago through collaboration between two of our lectures and some students who saw a need for a student governing body which acts as the link between the students and the lectures as well as for organizing social events where students could interact with architecture in a different way. Space has hosted several successful events over the years of which the highlight is our annual Architecture Ball or Cocktail evening.
Vision
Our vision is to have an integrated department where the architecture, architectural technologist and interior design students all learn from each other as we would in the working world. We would like as many students as possible to participate and attend our efforts to connect the department. We strive to facilitate a balanced working environment for all students. We aim to provide a platform where all the different years can get in contact with one another and share their architectural knowledge.
Mission
Our mission is to create moments and opportunities for students to connect within the department to work and learn together. We want to provide opportunities where students can learn practical skills on building sites and in turn also give back to the community.
