Background

The society’s purpose is to provide an opportunity for students to enhance their knowledge on current affairs and exercise critical thinking to develop problem management skills.

The society aims :

  • To groom students to use theoretical information as an aiding tool for solving practical problems.

  • To develop the student's leadership and management skills so that they would function as aides to community development programs.

  • To allow students to address the social needs of their communities in critical debating discussions. Promote better relations between all people through a framework of social networks and friendships mastered through the art of speech.

  • The society’s goals is to  provide opportunities for young people to address the needs and concerns of the community and our world through engagement in debates and public speaking 

  • To advocate for the respect of the rights of those without the platform to do so, using ethical standards and dignity for all through responsible spoken speech culture

  • To develop the students professional and leadership skills in Nelson Mandela University and the nation

  • To provide opportunities for working in cooperation with other campus societies and community that seek to address relative community challenges and finally to groom and motivate young people for their future responsibilities.

 

Vision:

To groom and motivate students to become skilled Nelson Mandela University graduates; that will mature into esteemed leaders. We aim to achieve this vision by equipping students with strong communication skills.

 

Mission:

To establish members that will adopt the culture of public speaking and debate into their lives. To provide students with a firm foundation in communication skills that they will use to develop themselves and their communities.

 

Aim:
